New Clinic! Keeping Trains on the Track

\"SLHRSOur HO Division Superintendent, Tom Blinn, will be running our first clinic for the 2015-2016 season!  This clinic will be “Keeping Trains on the Track”.  This is a fundamental clinic that all should understand in order to maximize the enjoyment of the railroading hobby.  This works for all scales.  You will have to bring nothing other than an open mind and a desire to have your track and trains perform at the maximum level.  Tom will be giving participants 10 things to do that will fine tune you model railroad cars and the track to run like champions.  Here are some of the topics:

  1. What problems do the real railroads have in keeping trains operating safely?
  2. What are the most common model railroader problems in derailments?
  3. What are the physics of rail and wheel?
  4. How to have great wheels.
  5. How to effectively use an NMRA gauge.
  6. Couplers and trucks getting in the way.
  7. Curves and lateral easements.
  8. Making your passenger cars work well.
  9. Vertical easement.
  10. The ultimate test of your cars and track.
  11. Derailments at the Frog.

If your trains keep derailing or you have a friend that needs help, this is the clinic for you!  Hope to see you at our Depot Museum at 10:00 AM on September 26.  Bring a friend!
