Thank You, San Leandro City Council

No joke – we owe a huge thanks to the San Leandro City Council!  On March 7th at the City Council meeting, Mayor Pauline Russo Cutter presented members of the San Leandro Historical Railway Society with a ceremonial check (and yes, an actual check too!) for $6,000 to make up the balance of our Paint Fund to get the Depot re-painted.  We\’ve been fundraising for several years trying to raise the necessary funds to get our lead abatement and repainting of our 117-year-old Southern Pacific Depot done, and we\’re glad to finally be at the finish line!  We are very grateful to the San Leandro City Council for helping us to achieve this task in 2016!

We\’re holding off until after our Spring 2016 Open House & Train Show to schedule the painting.  We can\’t wait to be able to share the results with you in a few weeks!

Check out the pictures of us receiving our ceremonial big check!
